Favorite Hero

Biography:
Jose Rizal( Jose Protacio Rizal Mercado y Alonso Realonda ) was born on June 19 1861 at Calamba Laguna. He was the son of Francisco Engracio Rizal Mercado de Alejandro and Teodora Morales Alonzo Realonda de Quintos. He was the seventh child in the family. He attended Ateneo Municipal de Manila, earning Bachelor of Arts. He enrolled in Medicine and Philosophy and Letters at the University of Santo Tomas and then traveled alone to Madrid, Spain, where he continued his studies at the Universidad Central de Madrid, earning the degree of Licentiate in Medicine. He attended the University of Paris and earned a second doctorate at the University of Heidelberg. Rizal was a polyglot conversant in at least ten languages. He was a novelist whose most famous works were his two novels El Filibusterismo and Noli Me Tangere. As a political figure, Jose Rizal was a founder of La Liga Filipina, a civic organization that subsequently gave birth to the Katipunan led by Andres Bonifacio and Emilio Aguinaldo. He was a proponent of institutional reforms by peaceful means rather than by violent revolution.

Reaction:
He was my most favorite hero because of what he did in our country. Not like Marcelo H del Pilar and Andres Bonifacio who fought using their bolos, Jose Rizal was able to fight against the Spaniards through writing  2 novels the El Filibusterismo and Noli Me Tangere to fight for our freedom. When the Spaniard knew the purpose he was brought in jail and was shoot and died at Bagumbayan. Jose Rizal was a well rounded individual, a master of many things. So we Filipinos should be proud of him and show full respect because we are enjoying now the independence that they dreamed to have no matter how they struggle for it. I know they were happy wherever they are because their desires where not in vain.
